Selfyontology
Serious self-study, taken lightly.

Serious self-study, taken lightly.
Do you want to know your Self better, live your life more closely rooted in what makes you YOU without second guessing everything all the time? Me too.
Selfyontology is both a personal and public experiment in self-study: A year-long practice of curiosity, raw reflection, sifting the Self through various structures, and documenting findings.
In academic terms, this is a qualitative self-study. In human terms, it’s paying better attention.

The personal part: I’m on a year-long journey through a Labyrinth (yes, like the movie) of therapeutic frameworks, personality tests, psychological theories, childhood memories, art appreciation, birth charts, school records, friendships, faith traditions, and more – all in attempt to map who I am into an organized ontology. I want to know myself better—what makes me me, and how to just be that person without constantly second-guessing motives or impacts.
Since I couldn’t find the how-to book I was looking for, we’re making it up! Not quite DIY-style (since I’ll be utilizing a curated selection of professional research and tools, plus I am a certified counselor), but picture me lying on my own metaphorical couch in a therapeutic Wild West, documenting and demystifying who I am one week of reflective writing at a time.
Then I’ll post it.

Selfyontology is the study of my Self’s being – part scholarly exploration, part one giant selfie. Is that embarrassing? Maybe.
You want in? We can be embarrassed together. Here’s the public part:
It would love love LOVE for you to join this project too. Each week, I will be setting up one or more prompts, questions, or free online tools, then sharing my own personal responses/findings. You can share yours too! by the end of this next year, we’ll each have a (hopefully) well-rounded guidebook—mine to Me, yours to You.
